Ford has a lot of work to do as the Mach-E will be its first real jump into the EV market and it needs to be successful. With electricity, performance is easy. Electric motors are powerful and torquey. This means there could be several iterations of the Mach-E ranging from entry-level power up to Lambo-killing grunt if the Blue Oval sees demand for such a powerful vehicle. For now, however, expect the brand to focus on practical range and decent power. A lithium-ion battery will be responsible for delivering power, and you can almost bet there will be at least two electric motors - one in the front and one in the rear - for all-wheel-drive performance. AWD will almost be a necessity at this point, but an RWD version or at least the ability to turn off the front wheels isn鈥檛 out of the question. As far as charging goes, expect a quick charging station in the home to be your best bet, but Ford will likely include adapters to allow charging at most public charging stations.

Wireless charging has yet to become feasible as it鈥檚 quite time-consuming so don鈥檛 hold your breath for that one. Range won鈥檛 be less than 250 miles per charge but expect Ford to do its best to break the 300-mile barrier to keep up with the competition. If you have any idea of what pricing will be, feel free to clue us in. Considering we haven鈥檛 even seen a prototype of this model, initial market pricing hasn鈥檛 even be thought about at Ford headquarters. 51,790 as of the time of this writing. As of right now, the Jaguar I-Pace is one of the few all-electric crossovers on the market. It has a striking resemblance to the concept car that came before it. It has a sporty exterior with muscular haunches and wavy sides. The interior is equally as sporty with all of the digital goodness expected from a modern luxury and performance vehicle to go with all of that good stuff layered through the interior.

Motivation comes from a 90-kWh battery that sends power to a pair of twin electric motors. Total system output is rated at 394 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, enough to send this baby straight to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. U.S. range is expected to fall at 240 miles per charge, while the U.K. 298 miles. The battery can take an 80-percent charge in around 85 minutes when connected to the right charger. Pricing for the U.S. 86,830 at current exchange rates. Read our full review on the 2019 Jaguar I-Pace. The Tesla Model X isn鈥檛 exactly a 鈥減erformance vehicle鈥?as we typically know them. 140,000 for the P100D. It鈥檚 hard to admit it, but the idea of Ford using the MachE name on an SUV is really starting to sit well, even with some purists. Personally, it鈥檚 hard to see brands banking off classic names, using their clout to push SUVs but, from a business perspective, it makes sense. Mitsubishi is doing it with the Eclipse and the Lancer names and Ford is probably smart to do it with the Mach-E name. As long as the brand keeps the Mustang feel to it, and it offers up true performance, it might not be so bad. SUV manages to compete in the market. 鈥檛 end up slandering the Mach-E name - It would be a shame to see the Mach-E name remembered as a failure after such a successful history in the past. The Explorer, as well as Pilot, will certainly obtain the RWD/AWD variation of the style, yet Ford won鈥檛 stop there.
