132862 1969 Ford Mustang RK Motors Classic Cars For Sale

From rare 60s Shelbys to Fox body SVOs, the Mustang camp has ALWAYS provided it's fans with a whole portfolio of unique options and fabled powertrains that become instant classics as soon as they hit the showroom floor. Arriving at its Maryland dealership 12 days behind schedule, this super rare 1969 Mustang Mach 1 was purchased by James Arthur Price who would use it to prowl the Baltimore streets for years to come. Recently, its rock solid body was the beneficiary of a frame-off rotisserie restoration which created a virtually flawless canvas for a correct and glossy coat of Black Jade Green urethane. Once the cars clearcoat shell was buffed to a brilliant shine, trademark flat black was re-applied to its awesome shaker hood and bright gold Mach 1 tape stripes were perfectly aligned on its fuselage and rear valence. Today, this Mustang is a classic collection of straight and flat body panels, perfectly ridged character lines, and narrow panel gaps that combine to create a show worthy muscle car which presents a better than factory appearance.

At the front of the car, chrome trimmed low beam headlights and crystal clear grille mounted high beam headlights combine with an angled chin spoiler and ridged front fenders to provide a fierce, aggressive look. Inside that grille, a pristine chrome Mustang emblem features a familiar galloping horse and red, white and blue vertical inlays; and at the edges of that grille, factory chrome hood pins complement a showroom fresh plateaued front bumper. Top dead center on the hood is a silver finned shaker scoop which proudly displays chrome 鈥淐obra Jet鈥?emblems on each of its sides. And at the sides of the car, stainless rocker moldings parallel excellent looking chrome door handles and drip rails, body matched racing mirrors, and straight stainless trim which wraps around factory correct tinted glass. At the back of the car, attractive deep set quarter scoops lead a concave rear valence which hangs a detailed fuel cap and segmented Mustang tail lights below black inlayed "Mustang" letters. And a pristine chrome bumper sits above round, chrome trimmed reverse lights which are affixed just outside of quad outlet stainless exhaust tips. Fortunately, this sinister Mustang is a lot more than just a pretty body.

Under the blacked-out hood the original 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet Ram Air engine, which wears a correct November (K) 25th (25) of 1968 (8) casting date, has been completely rebuilt to its correct factory specifications. As one of the hottest pony car mills ever created, Ford's big block 428 cranks out a conservatively rated 335 horsepower and runs every bit as good as its brilliant Ford Blue paint looks. At the top of the engine, a correct Holley 4-barrel carburetor sits under a correct ram air induction system which draws fresh air from the cars silver detailed shaker scoop. Below that carburetor, silver finned valve covers sit at the sides of a correct Ford coil which sends spark through a correct points distributor to Autolite Professional Series premium plug wires. And below those plug wires, fully restored cast iron manifolds send spent gases into a high performance exhaust system while a correctly decaled satin black radiator sends water through fresh hoses and correct clamps.

As you can see, the cars spotless engine bay has been properly sprayed in a smooth coat of satin black paint. And all of the correct ancillary components, from the fresh power brake booster and silver shock tower brace to the correct Motorcraft vacuum hoses and silver accessory brackets are present and accounted for. Every bit as fast and potent as it was 43 years ago, this awesome Mach 1 is ready to hit the street or the show field as soon as it rolls out of our RK Motors Charlotte showroom! Naturally, the bottom of this clean Mach 1 has been restored to the same high standards as its exterior and engine compartment. Behind the motor, a tough Toploader 4-speed close ratio manual transmission, which carries an RUG-AU1 code from a 429 powered Torino, drives a durable Ford 9 inch rear end with stout 3.50 gears and a correct Traction-Lok limited slip differential.

Holding that drivetrain off the ground is a correctly marked front and rear suspension which consists of like-new OEM-grade equipment and a fresh pair of KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks. Above that suspension, red floor pans appear new, show absolutely no signs of rust or weathering and wear a lot of Black Jade overspray, just as the car would have left the factory. And at the ends of that suspension, optional power steering combines with optional power front disc and rear drums brakes, which receive fluid through new stainless lines, to make both turning and stopping an absolute cinch. Inside the car, a correct black Clarion Knit vinyl interior features fresh Hi-Back buckets seats with red accents which blend perfectly with a whole roster of original panels and pieces. Everything from the seat foams and seat covers to the carpet and black rubber floor mats was replaced during the restoration. The dash is loaded with rebuilt gauges which include a factory clock, and features wood grain trim that's as vivid and bright as the day the car rolled into its Baltimore showroom.
