You don't buy anything from Ford, you don't pay anything to Ford, you never interact with Ford employers. You are not their customer. The dealership is their customer. And by extension, I am their customer. You must be real fun at parties. Lots of people are loyal to Ford products. Buy them one after another. They make good cars, and price them competitively. Dealerships and service centers all over the place. Even most small towns have a Ford store nearby. Believe this will be a pretty good first effort and bring many more people into the EV community. Their eligibility for the full Federal Tax credit will give them some pricing power. Tesla still has the first mover advantage, and also has raving fans. They will see that this new Ford is pretty much copying the success of Tesla. New car pretty much checks all the boxes that Tesla innovated.

Lithium Ion batteries. large center touch screen display, multiple battery size/range/performance options, single/dual motors, stylish, fast and good handling, skate board battery placement. Things they missed, however, are easy to use and fast Supercharging, automatous driving, OTA updates and continous innovation/improvements. Tesla is a moving target. Ford is attempting to make a competitive product, but it is based on Model 3 specs that were published over a year ago. Ford also has another problem. They just made a deal with the Devil. The corrupt UAW Union has negotiated a contract to shield themselves from the reality that EVs take far less labor to build than gassers. A typical ICE motor takes over 3 1/2 hours of labor to build. An equilivent power electric motor takes less than 1 hour. They are forcing Ford to not close ICE plants or lay off those workers. They will add additonal cost burdens to the legacy producers. I don't understand the arrogance of Tesla fans.

The product is the ONLY reason to buy a Tesla. The service is pathetic, they treat customers like we should be grateful they are willing to take our money. It takes forever to get service, parts, etc. They give attitude if you ask basic questions, like when might my car be delivered or why does my trunk not close on a brand new car. If I have to give up 20 miles range to not be treated like an amoeba, I will do it. With Tesla not being known for reliability, why buy from them if a competitive product exists? Are people so in love with Elon? I could care less about FSD, so that is not a selling point for me. I am really thinking about cancelling my order now that it seems Tesla will not be the only game in town soon. Plus the Ford will be cheaper due to the higher tax rebate. I don't disagree that Tesla has issues and some folks get really shafted here, but the flip-side there for many of us in the traditional automaker/dealer experience is also often VERY hit or miss. A general incompetence when it comes to repairs.

Basically, if you get the "good mechanic" then you are likely to get good service, if not, well then you get what you get. A "sorry, we couldn't duplicate the issue" or "that's normal" response to issues I've raised. A salesman who asked me to "please throw away the customer satisfaction survey" I would get in the mail since he so botched the selling process. I just want the repair done right! I feel I have a 50/5 shot of getting the repair done correctly. I had to compare my service experience with Tesla to others, I have to admit Tesla has been better (not perfect, but better). Just having mobile service come to my house as an option is a huge delta to me over other car makers / dealers. Thanks for the sanity check. I have owned 3 cars in my life, a 2000 Accord, 2003 GX 470, and 2007 Tundra.
