RR's Electric Vehicle And Clean Energy Discussion/fanboy Thread
Still not convinced this Aspark Owl isn't vaporware, but the claimed specs are quite impressive. Of course they better be for 3 million bucks. Car looks great, Owl is a stupid name for a car though.. So Elon picked Germany to assemble and develop cars for Europe. Germany is the most expensive place in the world to screw things together. I am fond of Zeiss camera lenses but my lenses are assembled in Japan because the labor rates are cheaper. In effect, Japan is their Mexico. My guess was the Czech Republic in terms of labor force and central location but Germany has it's perks in terms of disgruntled ex-M-B/BMW/Audi employees. There's gonna be quite a few ex BMW employees around Germany looking for work.
From what I was reading Berlin appears to be a cheaper place (in Germany at least) to manufacture and is also bringing in younger generation who would like to work at a place like Tesla. Literally setting up shop in your enemys backyard. As long as they don't use German engineering, they'll be good. So this Mustang inspired SUV is gonna use the Mustang name as well? Not sure about this move Ford. I mean I know it'll impact the range, but does it shorten the life? Maine vs San Diego. I mean I know it'll impact the range, but does it shorten the life? Maine vs San Diego. The short answer is no. Cold does not affect longevity. Heat can, but only if cooling is inadequate. The most prominent example being the air cooled battery of the Nissan Leaf and all the troubles they encountered in places like Arizona. Tesla in particular is quite obsessive about keeping the battery cells in their Goldilocks zone. The short answer is no. Cold does not affect longevity. Heat can, but only if cooling is inadequate. Visit ForceFed Motorsports's homepage! As for tesla's truck name, make it into 'tron' lettering. They filed trademarks for Cybertruck and CYBRTRK. Damn legal dept leaking info! Specs are pretty solid. Both needs wider wheels & tires and better offset. Its an SUV, and I think it was a bad choice to name it, design it, off of the mustang. That could've been the next Ford Escape.
Separate names with a comma. Please don鈥檛 tell me we鈥檙e going to have know-it-alls now trying to 鈥渃orrect鈥?everyone who refers to level 3 charging. That would get old in a hurry. Just want to point out that tesla charges are not as common as every keeps saying. They are useless for me. I would buy this over the Y if I liked the station wagon look everyone seems to be into now. I am looking for a car so I guess it is model 3 for me. From what I am reading Ford is not going to be making cars anymore. So Tesla should hold that maket for a bit longer. Is it just me, or does that nose cone look like a sideways unshaved vulva? That鈥檚 a mildly ironic statement, since with Ford you would not be an actual customer. Ford鈥檚 customers are franchised dealerships. Clearly you have never purchased a vehicle before. Or if you have, I鈥檓 sorry the poor salesman worked you over. At Ford, I am a paying customer and they value my business.
Not so much with Tesla. And then there is the current lack of level 3 chargers for non Tesla EVs. Depends on where you live. I actually want a CCS adapter for my 3 as the network has really filled out by me. Specs look competitive. My question is whether or not Ford is serious. Will they make more than 30,000 of these a year? Expert in Dunning-Kruger Effect! I like it a lot. Also significantly cheaper than the Model Y (after tax rebate) and pretty much guarantee to get better service. Let's see what semi-autonomy features they put forward.. Specs look competitive.
