瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests
normal, replace the EBCM.
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
10. If the circuits test normal, replace the steering angle sensor.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Steering Wheel Position Sensor Replacement (See: Sensors and Switches/Sensors and Switches - Steering and Suspension/Sensors and
Switches - Steering/Steering Angle Sensor/Service and Repair/Steering Wheel Position Sensor Replacement)
* Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for EBCM replacement, setup, and programming

DTC Descriptor
DTC C0460 00
- Steering Position Sensor
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The power steering control module (PSCM) continuously monitors the position sensor sine wave frequency signals. The sine wave voltage signals
of the position sensor and the angle difference between the steering column output and input shafts detected by the torque sensor are both processed
by the PSCM to detect and calculate the steering wheel angle.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
* The PSCM detects open, short to ground or short between any of the motor rotational sensor circuits.
* The PSCM detects the steering wheel angle is outside the valid range of -720 to +720 degrees.
Actions Taken When DTC Sets
* DTC C0460 00 is stored in memory.
* The driver information center (DIC) displays the SERVICE POWER STEERING message.
* No steering assist.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* A current DTC will clear on the next malfunction free ignition cycle.
* A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles.
