What Are Some Common Problems With Mercedes C-Class Vehicles?





Common problems leading to repairs on Mercedes Benz C-Class vehicles include downshifting issues and faults with door locks. More general problems include lack of interior room and low fuel economy. Some people have reported a problem with the Mercedes C-Class shifting into lower gears and a loss of power between first and second gear. Another commonly reported problem is door locks repeatedly locking and unlocking. Puddles and heavy rain can also create a problem for the vehicle. At times, when driving through particularly deep puddles or during intense precipitation, the vehicle shuts down and does not restart. In Comfort and even Sport mode, the 2.0-litre turbo goes about its business rather quietly, unless the accelerator is stabbed hard. Although the 241-hp and 273 lb-ft-torque output is sufficient for everyday driving, the engine鈥檚 character in these modes doesn鈥檛 feel especially sporty. C300 is at its most engaging in this spec. Despite the presence of a lot of optional equipment, both in package form and standalone, the C300 4MATIC coupe offers a decent value proposition when you take into account the market it competes in. 48,100 for the base model, the C 300 is competitive with rival offerings from Audi, BMW and Cadillac. The C300 slots in above both the Audi A5 and Cadillac ATS coupe and just below the BMW 428i xDrive. It should be noted, however, that the A5 will be all-new for the 2017 model year, which could change the value dynamic somewhat. While the A5 is a one-powertrain, all-wheel drive configuration car like the C300, both the 4-Series and ATS are available in rear-wheel drive and with four- and six-cylinder engines. The ATS is also available with a manual transmission, albeit only with the four-cylinder engine. All that said, the C300 is on par with the competition in terms of style, technology and value. The lack of options in terms of powertrain will likely not matter to a large swath of its intended demographic.
