Oil Leaks From Oil Filter - Filter Loosens - Revised Tightening Method
Issue:
Some 2000 MY-ON S-TYPE vehicles may experience customer complaints of oil leaks caused by the oil filter loosening in service.
Action:
To eliminate the problem of oil filters becoming loose and leaking oil, a revised tightening procedure has been produced and new special tool (oil
filter wrench 303-752 supplied) introduced to tighten the oil filter to a specific torque of 18 Nm.
On a customer complaint basis only, follow the workshop procedure below.
TIGHTENING PROCEDURE
Note:
The revised procedure and new tool must be used when replacing the oil filter at normal service intervals.
