Issue:
The vacuum routing label on 3.0L V6 2000 MY S-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range, may be incorrect. All vehicles from VIN L38200
onwards have been equipped with the correct label during manufacture.
4.0L V8 vehicles are not covered by this Service Action. A workshop procedure is included in this bulletin.
Action:
On all 3.0L V6 S-TYPE vehicles prior to VIN L38200, install a new vacuum routing diagram label on (Illustration 1) both the right side front
suspension panel and on the right side tower cover.
Perform this action at the next convenient workshop visit.
WORKSHOP PROCEDURE

The tower cover is held in place by a plastic clip, accessible only by reaching up into the wheel arch area (Illustration 2). To release the clip
reach up into the wheel arch area above the tire and squeeze the two ends of the clip together, at the same time gently pull the tower cover off.
Caution:
Do not attempt to pull the tower cover off without releasing the clips, since this will permanently damage the cover.
Remove the existing label from the right hand side of the suspension panel and replace it with the new label, part number XR8 17391
(Illustration 3).
3. Apply a second label to the tower cover (Illustration 4).
