Britney Spears Drives Herself To LA Area Starbucks With Bodyguard

Despite reports of recent woes, Britney Spears looked to be taking it easy on the holiday weekend. The 37-year-old entertainer was spotted as she grabbed a match green tea with whipped cream at a Starbucks location in Calabasas, California on Sunday. The Grammy winner had a bodyguard in tow as she ventured to the coffee chain in her Mercedes Benz SUV, amid her attempt to escape the conservatorship controlled by her father Jaime. Pinsky spoke with TMZ on Saturday it's time for everyone to 'leave Britney alone,' and suggesting that if the court keeps the conservatorship ongoing, someone aside from her father should be in charge of it. Share 'I'm not so sure anymore dad should be a conservator,' said Pinsky, who on Celebrity Rehab oversaw a treatment program for troubled stars such as Tom Sizemore, Mackenzie Phillips and the late Jeff Conaway. 10 years' and is 'entitled to have a look' at amending the current arrangement. Pinsky's remarks came on the heels of Jamie's recent legal motions to expand the terms of the conservatorship over Florida, Hawaii and Louisiana, all states Britney is partial toward visiting, TMZ reported. Sources told the site that Jamie is making the move with the Free Britney movement in mind, as he believes that people behind the social media movement could try to contact Britney in one of those locales.

The Mercedes-benz A-Class is all-new. With edgy "Predator" styling cues in line with family members like the CLS, and an upgraded, tech-focused interior, the five-door hatch should be a big seller when it goes on sale in just a few months. But rumor has it that the new vehicle could spawn as many as seven different models - and we hope the two pictured here are part of the plan. Imagined by rendering artists at Ascariss Design, the A-Class has been digitally transformed into both a coupe, and a hotter A45 AMG hatchback. The former of the two renderings looks particularly sleek, and draws similarities to both the C-Class coupe and the CLA sedan before it. Just don鈥檛 expect to see one in the real world. The A45 AMG, on the other hand, should eventually join the lineup. Ascariss Design has given the hot hatch some subtle styling cues in line with the rest of the AMG range, including features like a more aggressive front fascia with black accents, black wheels, and appropriate AMG badging throughout. The outgoing AMG model produced 375 horsepower (279 kilowatts) and 350 pound-feet (474 Newton-meters) of torque via a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four, so we expect an updated version to be even more powerful. For now, buyers will have to make do with the standard A-Class. In its most powerful trim, it uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine to produce 221 hp (165 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. That newfound power is paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, available with standard front-wheel drive, or an optional 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The new A-Class hatchback will make its way to Europe later in the year before arriving stateside as a sedan exclusively. Spy shots show that development of the four-door model is already underway. No word on pricing just yet.

This teaser video showcases a motion-activated dome light 鈥?hot stuff, right? We're sure you're as enthused as we are to be teased with such luxury, but a feature like this does prompt questions. Will it only function when the car is in park? What other ways are there to get the light pop on? Mercedes says it's part of the new Interior Assistant in the CLA. We'll learn all about what this assistant can do for you at CES, since it's said to have more functionality than flicking the lights on and off. All we know for now is that the passenger side light will turn on when you reach over to the passenger seat. Other than the lighting, we can see that the interior styling looks nearly identical to the new A-Class. Everything down to the center stack and button layout follows in the A-Class' footsteps. We're not saying that as though it's a bad thing. The A220 we recently drove was absolutely stunning for a compact luxury car on the inside.

We can make out some text on the dash that reads out "Edition 1," which indicates Mercedes appears to be planning that special-edition car right from the get-go, too. Rumors point to this car being only a few inches longer than the A220. This prompts a few questions: Why is Mercedes introducing a second compact luxury sedan that is almost the exact same size, but with a similar interior to boot? Maybe the CLA will be a bit more luxurious and stylish, but is it really enough to differentiate itself from the A-Class? The standard engine is expected to be the same 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder as the A220, and we expect a CLA 45 eventually. If the report from yesterday is true, that car will put out over 400 horsepower with an electronically-controlled drift mode. Check back next week for the full run-down on the CLA after Mercedes shows it to us in Las Vegas.
