There are five Mercedes-Benz G65 AMGs for sale at Al Ain Class Motors in Dubai, as well as a two G63s, a Brabus G V12 S and an ART-tuned G55 AMG. Even though the Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG has been launched just a couple of months ago, it seems that in Dubai there are already five units available for sale at Al Ain Class Motors. Four of the cars are brand new, with two of them featuring a white exterior paint finish, one finished in blue while the other one has a red bodywork. There's also a fifth vehicle with 4,000 miles on the odometer that has a matte black look while on the armrest it has a United Arab Emirates crest. To refresh your memory, the G65 AMG is motivated by a massive V12, 6.0-liter bi-turbo engine with 603 hp (450 kW / 612 PS) and 737 lb.-ft. The SUV can return 13.8 mpg and has CO2 emissions of 397 g/km.

Each corner is highlighted individually in the gallery. Inside, the seats are heated and ventilated up front, and upholstered with black leather outers and quilted Classic Red leather inserts. This particular G65 was also optioned with carbon fiber trim adorning the door panels, center stack, and lower console as depicted in the gallery. The rear cargo area is protected with a WeatherTech mat. Additional amenities include heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, parking sensors, navigation, Bluetooth, a power sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a myriad of other features. The automatic transmission can be shifted manually via paddles behind the steering wheel rim. 14k miles are shown on the digital odometer. The bi-turbo 6.0L V12 sits underneath a carbon fiber cover and developed 621 horsepower at 5,300 rpm and 738 lb-ft of torque at 2,300 rpm when new. Period testing found that the three-ton G65 AMG could accelerate to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Per the seller, a 20k-mile service was recently completed including new fluids and filters.

Mercedes-AMG might be famous for its V8s, but its 6.0-liter V12 sits at the top of the food chain. For now. Car and Driver reports that AMG will soon phase out its three V12-powered models, the S65, SL65 and G65, in favor of a different sort of flagship. AMG boss Tobias Moers broke the news in a recent interview. Moers told Car and Driver. Car and Driver suspects this other path is hybrids, and we're inclined to agree. Last year, AMG showed off a four-door GT concept, which featured an 805-hp hybrid powertrain consisting of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor at the rear axle. Moers told us last year that we should expect to see this system in a production car in 2021 or sooner. Plus, Moers told Car and Driver that AMG "will continue to build the engine for other sub-brands" too. That means this V12 should live on in the Mercedes-Maybach S650 for the foreseeable future. The only unknown that remains is Pagani. AMG has supplied V12s to the Italian supercar builder since 1999, with a bespoke version of its 6.0-liter V12 powering the Huayra. We've reached out to Mercedes-Benz to see if AMG will continue to provide V12s for Pagani.

Perhaps the auto industry鈥檚 most unlikely icon, the Mercedes-Benz G-wagen was originally developed for the German military way back in 1979. The civilian model gained popularity for its rugged chic and anti-style style. Then AMG got its hands on the G-wagen, and the muscled-up variants including the G63 and the twin-turbo V-12-powered G65 eventually eclipsed the standard G-class in sales. It became clear that the more outrageous Mercedes made the G-wagen, the more buyers loved it. Although we鈥檝e just driven the all-new G-class, we couldn鈥檛 pass up the opportunity to strap our test gear to this final iteration of the (nearly) original G-wagen, which literally towers over the standard model. Naturally, with its 17.2 inches of ground clearance, we had to take the 4x42 off-road. The portal axles, which use in-hub gears to locate the wheel centers below the axles鈥?driveshafts, combine with the massive wheels and tires to deliver 7.9 inches more air between this G and the ground than in a standard model. Factor in the steep approach and breakover angles (not so much the departure angle, owning to the comparatively low-hanging rear bumper), and there wasn鈥檛 an obstacle this Benz couldn鈥檛 overcome.
