Comment on How Lee Iacocca leveraged the K car’s success to save Chrysler by Bill (the other one)

My Voyager, described above, was traded in on a ’00 Saturn SW2. Put 125K on it over 12 years at 32.7 MPH OA. It was a fun and comfortable drive and the quality was good. The problem with the whole concept was that panels-on-skeleton body design. Every panel had to have the nubs on the back face dressed down to fit perfectly. No complaints there as the fit and finish were above reproach but it was as expensive as all get out. Saturn never made dime one for GM.
True, it didn’t have the utility of “Puff, the Magic Wagon” but then it was about a foot shorted in height. Nothin’s for nothin’.
