Audio System - CD Error Message When Loading CD

Bulletin No.: LS-415-002

Issue: 1

Date: December 09, 2005

SECTION: 415-00

CD Error Message During Loading

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: 6A900129 and up

With Alpine 6-Disc CD Integrated Head Units (IHU)

CONDITION SUMMARY:

CD ERROR MESSAGE RECTIFICATION

A customer may report a concern of a CD load error message displayed on the integrated head unit (IHU) screen and subsequent loss of CD player

functionality.

Cause:

Under certain conditions during CD loading, a failed disc load will be detected and will cause the disc player to stop all further disc loading and play

functions. This is done to prevent CD damage until corrective action is completed and is a normal function of the CD player.

Action:

The CD load error function is not a fault and can normally be cancelled by using the 'eject' button to cancel the failed loading. Should a customer

express concern regarding the above, explain the correct clearing process for the owner to use. If the fault does not clear with the 'eject" button, refer

to the Repair Procedure in this bulletin.

PARTS:

No parts required

WARRANTY:

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply.
