KIT Accessory Phone Module Fault



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:



Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: Equipped with KIT Phone VUB501151



CONDITION SUMMARY:



A customer may report a concern that when the ignition is switched on or off, the navigation system voice announces "sorry" or "command not



recognized".



Cause:



This is a phone system component software error.



Action:



If a customer complains of the above voice response symptoms, refer to the Repair Procedure section in this bulletin and replace the telephone



module.



NOTE:



The renewal of the installed module with XVD500021 may also correct the following faults:



^ The present call terminates when another call attempts to connect (call waiting).



^ The phone will not stay muted when a call is ended. This situation requires an ignition cycle to change the mute status.



^ The red button does not cancel an unanswered call.

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers.



Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

REPAIR PROCEDURE



INSTALL REPLACEMENT ACCESSORY PHONE MODULE



1. Release center floor console upholstery for access.



2. Release the cellular telephone module from the Velcro(R) retaining strips.

3. Remove the cellular telephone module from behind the floor console. (Figure 1)



4. Disconnect the cellular telephone module electrical connector. (Arrowed in Figure 1)



5. Remove the cellular telephone module.



6. Attach Velcro(R) strips to the new cellular telephone module (XVD500021).



7. Position the cellular telephone module behind the floor console and attach to the Velcro?retaining strips.



8. Install center floor console upholstery.
