Engine Misfire / Injector Clogging / Air Intake System Cleaning
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The engine may exhibit a misfire, poor fuel economy, hard starting, and I or a rough idle condition. The engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
may also be illuminated with misfire Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) P0301 through P0308 and P0316, depending on the affected cylinder(s),
stored in the Engine control module (ECM). This may be caused by poor fuel quality or fuel contamination, leading to clogged fuel injectors and
restricting the fuel injector flow rate.
NOTE:
After basic testing has been carried out (checking coil and harness for damage, checking injector harness connections, spark plug fouling, correct

fuel pressure, no fuel filter blockages etc) and if no fault can be found, then using the BG special tool (BG 9210 [or BG 9290] VIA(TM) Vehicle
Injection Apparatus) and cleaner (BG Air Intake System Cleaner 206 and BG 44K(R) Power Enhancer(R) 208) please carry out a fuel induction
system cleaning.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to clean the fuel injection system using a pressure
cleaner.

Single remote flexible holder with spray jet - BG part number 9245K

NOTE:
Both *BG Air Intake System Cleaner 206* and BG 44K(R) Power Enhancer(R) 208 are to be locally sourced and must be claimed as 'sublet',
using code 'ZZZ001'.
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

CLEAN FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 303-04: Fuel Injection Component Cleaning Using Pressure Cleaner, and clean the fuel injection system.
