Front Door Lower Exterior Molding Loose - Repair Procedure



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:



LR2 (LF) VIN: 8H000212 - Onwards



Model Year: 2008 - Onwards



CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



The front door lower exterior trim molding may become partially detached from the door. This may be caused by the clips not being fully engaged in



the door or by separation of the two-piece retaining clips.



Action:



In the event of a customer concern of the above and where the molding is not damaged, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.



REPAIR PROCEDURE



INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOWER EXTERIOR MOLDING



1. Beginning from the front and working rearwards, partially remove door trim lower molding from the door by pulling outwards. (Figure 1)



^ Remove molding from all clips except for the lower rear clip.



^ Remove final clip by sliding the molding rearwards to disengage the clip from the dog housing.



NOTE:



Ensure parts of the existing clip do not 'drop' into the door on removal.



2. Remove the lower rear clip from the dog housing.



3. Install new one-piece clip (black, DYC500110) in the lower rear dog housing. (circled in Figure 3)



4. Examine molding for damage to dog housings.

5. Ensure yellow halves of the two-piece clips are installed in the door. (Figure 2)



^ Replace broken clips as necessary (DYC101420).



6. Ensure white halves of the two-piece clips are in the molding. (Figure 3)



^ Replace broken clips as necessary (DYC101420).



7. Install molding to door, ensuring all 14 clips are fully seated by listening for a 'click'.
