Date: January 11, 2006
SECTION: 501-08
Front Door Exterior Trim Detachment
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Range Rover Sport (LS) VIN: ALL
CONDITION SUMMARY:
DETACHED DOOR TRIM
A customer may report a concern that the lower door exterior trim moulding on the front doors has become partially detached from the door.
Cause:
Incorrect assembly of the lower trim during assembly can produce a situation where clips do not fully engaged in the door. Separation of the 2-piece
retaining clips can also occur. These conditions can result in partial detachment of the trim from the door.
Action:
Where a front door exterior lower finisher is partially or completely detached from the door but is not damaged, the finisher should be removed as
required and reinstalled with the retaining clips replaced according to this Repair Procedure in this Bulletin. The new clip configuration will ensure
retention while still allowing future removal of the trim.
