Issue: 2

Date: 21 JAN 2010

ISSUE '2' CHANGES ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN GRAY

THIS SERVICE ACTION IS VALID FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY

AND WILL EXPIRE 30 NOVEMBER 2011

SECTION: 303

SERVICE ACTION: Engine Vent Hose Coolant Leak

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

LR2 (LF) VIN: 8H000001-AH154175

Model Year: 2008 - 2010

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

A potential concern has been identified with a number of LR2 vehicles regarding a coolant leak from the quick connector joint securing a vent hose

to the engine.

The coolant leak is a drip; therefore, the vehicle will lose coolant over an extended period of time. The loss in coolant could lead to engine

overheating issues which in turn could trigger the reduced performance strategy.

Action:

Retailers are required to HOLD all affected vehicles in the above VIN range that are in their control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new

or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. Vehicles must not be released until inspecting, and

if necessary replacing, the vent hose assembly. Affected vehicles in the hands of owners should be repaired at the next available opportunity. At the

time of customer appointment, ensure that all outstanding service campaigns for each individual vehicle are identified and allocate sufficient time

and resources to complete all campaigns.

For cars in Retailer inventory, this Service Action should be performed in conjunction with the vehicle Pre- Delivery Inspection (PDI).

PARTS:

TOOLS:

Refer to Workshop Manual (GTR) for any required special tools

WARRANTY:

NOTE:

Always check DDW to verify that the vehicle is affected by this Action prior to undertaking any repairs. Repair procedures are under constant

review, and therefore times / prices are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to DDW to obtain the

latest repair time.

Warranty claims should be submitted quoting Program Code 'Q081' together with the relevant Option Code. As Option Codes are used, there is no

requirement to enter parts or labor; these are provided for information only. The option including drive in/drive out allowance may only be claimed

if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.

This Service Action is valid for two (2) years only and will expire 30 November 2011. Warranty claims up to this date must be submitted for

payment within 30 days of completion of the repair. Refer to Service Bulletins SWA09-13 / SWAO9-13C for further administration details.
